Dear Friends:

As a special friend and because of your significant relationship with St. Joseph Regional Health Center and St. Joseph Health System, we are inviting you and your company to become a pivotal partner and a MAJOR SPONSOR of the 10th BRAZOS VALLEY OPEN scheduled for September 29, 2002. We are proud to announce that the tournament will be held again this year at Briarcrest Country Club which is one of the premier golf facilities in the Brazos Valley.

Over the years, this event has raised over $280,000 for the expansion of urgently needed maternal/child care services, the Heart Center, to provide scholarships to current and future health caregivers from the Health Education Fund, and to purchase equipment and expand services at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Proceeds from the 10th Brazos Valley Open will be utilized to support the mission of St. Joseph Health System in providing urgently needed health care services to the patients and their families throughout the Brazos Valley and East Central Texas.

A Steering Committee comprised of business leaders, physicians, employees and community volunteers will be assisting in the implementation of our 2002 anniversary tournament. The tournament is open to men and women; men's, women's and mixed flights will be established. The event will consist of four?person teams, playing a scramble format and teeing off at designated tee times. But, this is not just a routine tournament! Contests will include prizes for Closest to the Pin, Longest Drives, Most Accurate Drives, and Longest Putts, just to mention a few.

Following the tournament on Saturday evening, a CATERED BUFFET DINNER and AWARDS PROGRAM will be held at BRIARCREST COUNTRY CLUB. Special presentations will be made to the winners of the various contests and to the TOP THREE TEAMS in each flight. The winners will receive trophies and a variety of exciting prizes.

As a not-for-profit institution guided by the core values of Reverence, Service, and Stewardship, St. Joseph Health System provides a lifeline for 12 counties and 350,000 Brazos Valley residents. Documented charity and uncompensated care exceeded $40 million in 2001 alone. During the past three years, the mission of St. Joseph Foundation has expanded to include generating charitable contributions for all health care facilities and 12-county area supported by St. Joseph Health System.

Proceeds from this event will further the mission of providing quality health care to all and promoting wellness throughout the Brazos Valley. Today’s health care environment encompasses innovative approaches to health maintenance as well as restoration. The St. Joseph Health System (SJHS) seeks to provide quality health care to each citizen regardless of their ability to pay and also focuses on outreach, education and prevention activities to benefit the community at large. The primary service delivery area is Brazos County and the six surrounding counties in central Texas.

In return for your cash contribution and in-kind support, we will provide your company with a special benefits package.
