St. Joseph Health System, a health ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio, is an integrated healthcare system consisting of four hospitals, two long term care facilities, 8 rural health clinics, a physician provider organization offering clinical care in more than 24 locations within a seven county primary service area. The Health System also includes a philanthropic foundation, a managed care organization and a property corporation to support its health care services in the Brazos Valley. In 2007 SJHS received the Texas Award for Performance Excellence from the Texas Medical Foundation and has repeatedly been recognized by HealthGrades, one of the nation’s leading independent health rating organizations, for 5-star outcomes in a variety of clinical services.
